SPVG 8 Diagnostic Tool VAG Models 2006-2009

Application note SPVG formerly SuperVAG
Precoding of transpoder and learning key
Required equipment:
· SPVG formerly SuperVAG
· Transponder programmer
· Add-on device SVG157 (needed for situation when All key is lost )
Application
· VW, Skoda, SEAT – models 2006 – 2009 ( except Touareg and Phaeton)
Description
There is a new regime for learning keys (transponders) introduced by Volkswagen cars. The transponder does not read the car identity during the learning process, but the code (so called Component security) must be stored to the transponder before.
You should use a transponder programmer for precoding it. This code (Component security) must be found out from the car.

Read the PIN and Component security bytes
In the program SPVG select the appropriate model and set the communication by clicking on Learning key. Wait until the program detects the control unit types and displays the identification of control units.

2. Click on the Read PIN button. On some cars you can select if you want to read the PIN from the engine control unit or from the instrument cluster. Information about Component security is automatically displayed too.
Note: If you read PIN and Component security from the engine control unit (or is the engine automatically selected), you get only 6 bytes of the component security. You have to get the 7th byte from the existing valid key. It must be done with a transponder programmer. (Follow the step Search of 7th byte of component security ).

All key lost situation VDO Micronas

If you are in the All key lost (no working key), the data cannot be read directly. You must get the instrument cluster into the Service mode using the device SPVG SVG157 (without this device you cannot continue).
· You have to dismount the instrument cluster from the car and remove the back cover.
1. Connect the blue connector of the SPVG SVG157 device to the instrument cluster.
2. Connect the SPVG communication interface to the SPVG SVG157 device.
3. Connect the power supply (12V). Lights on the instrument cluster must light.
4. Run SPVG program, select appropriate vehicle and Key learning function.

· After detecting the type of instrument cluster (next menu is displayed), select the function Read PIN.
· You will be asked about connecting the pogo (spring) pin to a special point on the printed circuit board of the instrument cluster.
· Follow the pictures below, the position depends on the type of printed circuit board .
· Follow the instructions in the program (connect and disconnect pogo pin , turn switch Term30 ON and OFF, wait necessary time) and you get the valid data file or PIN + Component security bytes (all 7 bytes).

Precoding of transpoder and learning key Required equipment:
· SPVG formerly SuperVAG
· Transponder programmer Application
· VW New Beetle – models 2006 – 2009

Description
There is a new regime for learning keys (transponders) introduced by Volkswagen cars. The transponder does not read the car identity during the learning process, but the code (so called Component security) must be stored to the transponder before. You should use a transponder programmer for precoding it. This code (Component security) must be found out from the car. In comparison to other cars 2006-2009, a specific ID must be stored to the transponder, otherwise it is not accepted by the immobilizer. Description: This type of immobilizer has a problem to learn a new transponder. The only way is to create a clone of a valid transponder. You need to know component security bytes and ID of valid transponder.
Using of transponder:
· Using of TP48w transponder is necessary.
· Transponder must be "precoded" by transponder programmer.

Read the PIN and Component security bytes

Find out the PIN and Component security bytes.
